There are plenty of savage smack downs in Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, but you know what always gets me? In my humble opinion one of the most brutal shut outs in the series that never gets any love?
When Ed tries to resign as a State Alchemist after learning that the homunculi are pulling all the military strings, Bradley included. All dramatic and intense. Revoking everything he’s worked for in a defiant show of morality. And Bradley’s response to having the pocket watch thrown in his face is p much just “lol yeah and?“
And Bradley just goes off. Just “the hell is this supposed to prove? We’ll kill everything you ever loved if you’re difficult so take back the damn watch Fullmetal.“
And he fucking. Takes. The watch back. Silently.
Bonus mention for Bradley asking Mustang if he’s gonna try the same stunt, to which Mustang responds “Nope. Not at all. I’ll keep the watch yup.“
