EdWin Head-canon question: Do Ed and Winry’s kids have god parents? If so who are they?

That’s a nice question! I don’t really think they have godparents in Amestris as that is a Christian thing and Ed says it loud and clear he’s an atheist (even tho he beats the god of fma xD). But if they were to have them, the first kid’s (whom I’ve named Alan) godfather would naturally be Al, and as for godmother… um, I’d say Mei otherwise but she and Al probably aren’t officially together yet at that point (if I am to believe Arakawa’s timeline, Ed and Winry have their first kid when they are 19-20). But I’d kinda like to think they’d ask Izumi! Since she can’t have kids of her own, it would make her super happy that they give her such honor.

As for the girl (whom I’ve named Emma), there are several strong contenders (again Mei, Paninya, etc) but maaaaaybe Roy and Riza are going for the win. Ed is a bit reluctant when it comes to Roy at first but Winry tells him they can’t ask Riza if they don’t ask Roy as well so… he has to accept it (and secretly he thinks Roy deserves it).

Gasp! Will there be sexy time?!!

I’m gonna reveal this under the cut just so those who /might/ want to avoid this ‘spoiler’ can avoid it.

The answer is: in the main fic, no because (1) they still barely know each other and I as the author of the fic like to think that they’d save it for a more meaningful moment, when they are 100% comfortable around each other and 2) let’s not forget that Ed has a broken leg and while it’s technically possible to have sex even with that issue, it’d probably be highly uncomfortable. 

Now, for the epilogue (or possible companion pieces): it’s way more likely 😉 I might not go into a detailed description bc some of my readers might be young/otherwise dislike M-rated fics (+tbh I don’t really like writing smut) BUT there /will/ be steamy moments. What will happen, tho, you’ll just have to wait and see 😀

2. All time favorite character? Why?

Ed, 100% (altho I’ve been in this fandom only for a year so it’s probably wrong to say ‘all time’ but anyway). Explaining why is p much as hard as describing myself, but briefly: I just like everything (even the temper tantrums) about him. He’s flawed, very hot tempered and stubborn, yet at the same time so pure and sweet in his own edgy way. The kid just wanted to see his mother, it’s so tragic he has to go through so much because of it. But on the other hand, his development was amazing. I can also relate to his hatred for his shortness because I’m a pipsqueak myself. (I could make this a very long rant but maybe some other time.)

(Not so surprisingly, Winry is a v strong runner-up in this category)

3. Least favorite character? Why?

Kimblee. Sure, Father is the Big Bad Villain in this series, but somehow he leaves you kinda generic feeling. Kimblee is simply gross. He doesn’t really seem to have any other motivation than hurting/killing people as much as he can.

12. Explain how you felt/your reaction at the end of Brotherhood.

I read the manga before seeing Brohood so I’m gonna explain it instead

When I had only one volume left, I was actually super nervous that there wouldn’t be time for a satisfying ending I wished for (I particularly remembered wishing for a sweet Edwin moment bc duh). But bang, Arakawa definitely exceeded my expectations. While I still kinda wish the last hug would have been a kiss instead, I didn’t expect the proposal at all, so when I saw it happening, I looked p much like this ^. Of course all the other scenes were amazing as well and even tho I was sad that the manga/series ended, it left me feeling good and fluffy. And that’s not something I can say about a lot of series.

Thanks! I want to know now though, how would /you/ write Ed expressing trauma? I’m genuinely asking this, because I do want to improve my fics. Once I’m done with the entire fic, I might go back and fix some things (because there’s a chance I will create an account on some ff site and I feel the audience is way harsher there than here+I would hate it if I myself had a hard time reading it in the future seeing all the flaws)

I know that Ed is that guy who bottles everything inside and doesn’t express sadness until something like Al’s sacrifice during the final battle happens and he simply can’t hold it inside anymore. But that’s what makes it kinda challenging in the context of this fic.
