12: Who initiates the New Year’s kiss?

TBH I kinda see Winry initiating most of the things in their relationship. Ed is just so damn awkward. She’d probably stand right in front of him when the clock tells them it’s midnight and ask: “are you gonna kiss me?” and he’d be like “whaa-aa-t???” and she’d be like “fine. I guess I just have to do this myself then.” and she’d take his face between her hands and give him a big smooch. Not super romantic, I know, but these two don’t do anything in the “normal” romantic way (which doesn’t mean they can’t be sweet!). Edit: after they become a thing officially, Ed gets more confident and he usually initiates it.

14: Would your OTP take a walk together in the snow?

I don’t see why not! The only problem there is is the automail which gets super cold in cold weathers but they’d probably change it to the winter model when it gets that cool. But Ed still gets excited about snow whenever they get it so he would drag Winry from her workshop and maybe even challenge her to a snowball fight or something.

For the Winter OTP ask: 1,4 and since I think the answer to 7 is pretty clear, the bigger question is: Who would WIN in a snowball fight? ^^

1: Who makes the other hot chocolate?

I would like to think that Ed makes Winry hot chocolate after a hard day of working on the automail (but Winry sometimes does the same for him. And doesn’t use milk in it because dang it if she did)

4: How would your OTP react to having a snow day?

Hmm. Like I already mentioned in another post, Ed would love it when they’d get snow, he gets so adorably excited when they get to Briggs and see it there (however the coldness isn’t his favorite part bc of automail reasons). Winry… I think she’d probably enjoy it as well because they get snow so seldomly. But she’d probably be slightly worried about Ed who could easily get cold so she tries to make sure he’s not outside too long.

Who would WIN in a snowball fight? 

I sort of answered this already but Winry! Because she’s small, she’s probably fast too (that’s what  I at least like to imagine), and she definitely has a good aim. And she knows Ed so well she knows how to weaken his defense (probably insult him/call him short/something like that)

7: Does your OTP ever have snowball fights?

This is an easy one. Yes, they would. Isn’t there even some official art in which they are playing in the snow? As for the explaining, they love bickering (and Ed loves all kinds of fighting) and I’m sure they’d find the snowball fight a good way to release some energy. And hey, we see Ed /canonically/ get excited over snow when he and Al go to Briggs so don’t tell me he wouldn’t be making snowballs right away when he sees some snow in Resembool or wherever they’d be living. 

Oh and a situation: Ed starts the snowball fight bc let’s be honest, he just wants Winry’s attention and what a better way to get it than throw a cold snowball in her neck, but if he thinks he can beat her, he has another thing coming. We all know Winry is prrretty good at aiming. And she also has her small size as an advantage, it’s harder for Ed to hit her.

8: What gifts would they get each other for the holidays?

Help I don’t like this question because it requires some imagination, which I clearly am lacking :’D (jk jk it’s good to make my brain think sometimes) Anyways, Ed /would/ probably try to get her something tacky (involving edgy shapes and stuff) at first but luckily Al steps in and makes him get something nicer, like a necklace (not more earrings tho :D) or something mechanics related which they know Winry likes. A bucket of wrenches is Winry’s dream gift (I will always love Fen’s pic of that). 

As for Winry… she would probably get Ed something practical. First she’d give Ed a bottle of oil for the automail (which he’d be super annoyed about), but she’d make up for it by baking and cooking his favorite things and (this is obviously when they are already married) maybe even doing something I’m not allowed to talk about on this website. So yeah, there’s that x) (Also Ed likes books so that’s always an easy gift.)

Someone insults Winry in front of Ed before they’re dating and he leaps over Major Armstrong and Al to come to her defense ”HOW ABSOLUTELY DARE YOU TALK ABOUT WINRY THIS WAY IN MY HOUSE” and Al goes ”brother this is the hospital” and Ed would go ”MY BEAUTIFUL AMAZING WIFE WHO SLAVED OVER MY AUTOMAIL” and Armstrong is like ”EDWARD ELRIC YOU FINALLY MARRIED HER? WHEN WAS THE WEDDING?” Ed will just turn into a stuttering blushing mess and Winry will walk in ready to do her job and everyone just 😏

OMG. Good stuff right there ^ (and canon). I wonder how Winry would react to that?

We all know Ed loves kids but what if he had to look after a kid that’s p much like him when he was younger? Someone temperamental yet smart and ambitious and very hard to keep a leash on? I feel like he’d either end up arguing with said kid 24/7 or be especially cautious to make sure they don’t make the same mistakes he did. Or both. Jesus. Poor kid wouldn’t even know if he hates them or not. One moment they’re both yelling and the other he’s teaching them life lessons.

I could most certainly see that happening. I think he’d most likely be a good mix of both of those things you just mentioned 😀 It’s how Ed works.

Ok Ed you can act tough all you want but given the chance we know that you would pour your heart out to Winry and love her with all your heart and probably never leave ever. You try to keep her at a distance because you know that she has that effect on you and it scares you a bit how much you love her

You said it, anon. This is how I see it as well 😀 (And during his journey he doesn’t contact her bc he’s afraid if he’s gonna spend too much time with her he doesn’t want to leave)

I’m gonna go ahead and add onto the train headcanon :3 since Resembool seems to be a small town everyone would know each other. People have probably watched Ed and Winry for y e a r s and have been on the Edwin train from the very beginning. They’ve probably even placed bets on when they’ll get engaged. Everyone has been waiting for this moment. When Ed finally proposes everyone is probably ecstatic, their ship has sailed 🛳 (boldly posts without anonymous turned on)
