al is great with the southern charm, he’s so polite and knows how to talk to a lady (or a guy) and is pretty good at getting people to do things for him ‘cause he’s just ~sooo charming~ don’t worry he uses these powers only for good (mostly)
ed however……….doesn’t know how to be charming. he’ll see al do it and try to charm some lady idk into some free food or something and he’ll be like “uh….your hair is pretty………it looks like the sheep back home?”
they know an unusual amount about farming and and livestock and just general things you pick up living in the country and everyone is like why do you know this
when they move to the city ed silently mourns all the hearty homecooked country dishes and the country air and the fresh produce but he won’t admit it

ed trying to hide his country accent, especially when he first started as a state alchemist, because he wanted to be taken seriously. after some time it does begin to fade naturally, but when he gets going on a rant, hoooo boooooyyy. Or sometimes when they go back to resembool for a while it’ll come back and the team will be like “oh how was resembool?” and ed’ll be like “how did you know that’s where i was”
ed and al talking with riza about country living because it seems like that’s where she grew up too, maybe havoc too from looking at his family’s general store?
