I forgot one so. I have no idea what he’s saying during that one because the game was never translated, but it seemed to be something like “Winry’s automail is the best!”
Also it should be noted the way Ed gushes in these panels was even more intense in the official translations. “I really have the greatest mechanic in the world”. “You’re pretty awesome yourself” “I CAN INTRODUCE YOU TO AN AWESOME MECHANIC.” Ed pls.
So for the bottom pic, I actually listened to the scene again (it’s here) And he says “Winry no automail saikou something something”. I looked it up and saikou means “awesome” and “the greatest”. Which means my guess was accurate but that just reinforces the common denominator in most of these compliments- that “awesome” is Ed’s FAVORITE WORD to describe Winry, her automail, or anything involving her. Like it’s his OFFICIAL word for her. THE SAME WORD HE RESERVES FOR THE MIRACLE OF LIFE. If that’s not adorable, get the fuck out.
