I absolutely live for sick characters prompts so of course I was super excited to to this, so here’s a sketch of Ed trying to get sick, overworked Winry to rest
another redraw of a favourite scene (chapter 47) since it’s october 3rd today (last year’s if anyone’s interested). fma is very important to me and this is another one of those scenes I still think about often.
Okay…I got the idea for this when I saw posts about how Winry wears a strikingly similar hoodie in the final scene of Brotherhood as Ed when he returns home after the promised day. Of course I didn’t use any reference and I drew that hoodie totally wrong in here.
And I discovered while making this how much I apparently love drawing Winry while Ed’s hair and face doesn’t make sense to me.
Back from my friends’, we indeed did end up watching a lot of fma:b (and even 2 episodes of 03, which was an Experience), and I remembered why I love Ed so damn much.
Summary: “Why don’t you come in with me and make sure I don’t drown, huh?” He smiles and offers his hand to her but she’s hesitant to take it.

The water laps at Winry’s toes as she stands on the shore. She’s a bit nervous watching Ed play with the kids in the water, knowing that her husband can’t go in too deep in case his auotmail gives him trouble. She reminded him to be careful a thousand times, but of course now he’s currently throwing their kids around, pretending to be a shark. Winry doesn’t want to be overbearing but she’s so nervous. This new baby is shooting her anxiety through the roof.
She’s so focused on watching her family, she doesn’t notice Izumi coming to stand next to her until the woman places a hand on her shoulder. “Are you going to go in?” The alchemist asks, as Winry jumps in surprise.
