im still waitin for the day where, for whatever convoluted and/or convenient reason, mustang Has to put ed in charge of the office for the day because ed is the highest ranked officer there

teamalphonse:

oh man can you imagine?

honestly the fact that Ed is officially ranked as a major never reached its full potential for humor (or angst, honestly, depending on how you use it)

Mustang HAS to put Ed in charge and Team Mustang just kind of….goes with it. They all KNOW they’re mostly just humoring the kid, but ED doesn’t know that, and he is so damn smug about it the whole time. He sits in Roy’s chair and does about 10 different impressions of him until he gets bored. He tries to prop his feet up on the desk but the chair isn’t quite tall enough for him to do it comfortably, so he ends up sitting in a ridiculously uncomfortable position just for spite.

Of course he doesn’t REALLY have full jurisdiction over Mustang’s office, but no one really told ED that, and for the most part Team Mustang just carries all his orders out while trying not to laugh.

Alphonse is so appalled the whole time, though. “Brother, I don’t think you should tell them to do that! Brother, that’s rude. Brother, please transmute the colonel’s desk back to normal, the gargoyles and spikes are kind of tacky.”

Rules for new Eastern Command Soldiers (in regards to dealing with Colonel Mustang’s team)

ladynorbert:

clois4ever30:

1. Do not call Edward Elric short/small/little/a runt/any other variation. No one will come to rescue you.

2. Lieutenant Hawkeye is single, but unavailable. Do not ask any further questions.

3. Alphonse Elric always wears armour as part of his alchemy training. He also goes everywhere with his brother Edward Elric, even if he’s not official part of the military. Just accept it.

4. Lieutenant Colonel Hughes visits regularly. Do not let him get started on the subject of his wife/daughter. Please, we beg you.

5. Do not pick on anyone from Mustang’s team.  Ever.

6. Yes, the legendary Hawk’s Eye is a woman. Do not question her skills. Don’t say we didn’t warn you.

7. Yes, the little black and white puppy is part of the team. He’s very important. Don’t question it.

8. Falman has an eidetic memory. Yes, you may quiz him about trivia when he’s not working; he enjoys it. Just remember that he has access to everyone’s personnel files, including yours.

9. Never bet against Breda when chess, shogi, or hot dog eating contests are concerned.

10. The rule about not picking on Mustang’s team goes double for Sgt. Fuery. He is small and unlikely to fight back; however, the others will destroy you. Twice.

11. Don’t ask Havoc about his love life.

12. If you value your life, don’t speculate about the actual relationship between Mustang and Hawkeye. (Or at least, not where they can hear you.) Nobody has figured it out yet and quite possibly no one ever will. All anyone knows for sure is that the most dangerous place in Amestris is between them.

13. (UPDATED) Sgt Furey should not be picked on ever if you vaule your life.  He may be small but he can, and will, take you on.  Don’t say you weren’t warned.
