I think the reason people are so judgmental of Edwin is because what they choose to see is a happy girl and main character who bump heads.

But this isn’t even remotely close to reality that it’s about two children who had a mutual respect for each other, who both parted to pursue their own career/goal. Who both realized that there is more to the others’ problems than they initially expected. Who learned to let the other in on their life and realized the consequence of shutting them out. Who stepped up and told the other what needs to be done. Who soon realized that they had both become adults who, through everything, were still able to hold onto their innocent joking, family morals, and memories.

Who used to be two little kids with little crushes that slowly became genuine love, respect, and partnership. Who only ever felt this way about each other.

You absolutely are not obligated to ship it, but if you can’t see their relationship for what it is, it is because you’re forcing yourself not to.
