Edward?

send me a character name and i’ll tell you three things i have in common with them and three things i don’t

Things we have in common: both I and Ed are stubborn, we are sassy and ummmm we are both short and we absolutely HATE it (I’m ngl it was one of the first things I loved in his character)
Things we don’t have in common: I LOVE milk (we know how he feels about it), I’m certainly not as brave and badass as him, and he’s athletic, I’m /not/

Thanks :3

Winry :)

send me a character name and i’ll tell you three things i have in common with them and three things i don’t

3 things I have in common with Winry: stubbornness, blue eyes, sensitivity

3 things I don’t have in common with Winry: I don’t have her mechanic skills, nor her strength (physical or mental), and I certainly don’t have an awesome hotheaded boyfriend/husband like she does :’D

Thanks so much 🙂

Ship meme: The most underrated and the most overrated ship

Most underrated (in fma fandom): this might come as a shock for some of you… or then not… but EdWin. For reals, FMA still has a lot of fans, but the amount of new content for this ship definitely isn’t big. And the amount of Winry haters is rather scary too. I get that some people might be put off by the Wrench ™, but it’s for slapstick humor, not something that should be taken very seriously. They love each other and are very much Canon and have 2+ babies and that’s beautiful.

Most overrated: do I need to say it? Like, I admit that Roy and Ed’s interaction in canon is a lot of fun, but there’s absolutely nothing romantic there. Nope. And /please/ do keep in mind that Ed is 15 in canon while Roy is 30ish so… that should say enough.

Thanks nonny!

I’ve seen a lot of hate given to Winry, too. It’s a shame. She’s an amazing character and it’s a shame that people don’t highlight the positive change she went through during the series, and all the amazing things she did. (Not to mention the fact that if she wasn’t around, Ed and Al would have never started their journey.) I’m ecstatic that your blog is Winry positive. :)

Yes, definitely agreed! She (for example) went from, well, nearly killing the person who killed her parents (btw this is just my view but I don’t think she could have done it anyway, but Ed stopping her and telling her her hands are for healing GIVES ME ALL THE FEELS. Also, I have seen posts saying that she shouldn’t have been angry because Scar’s anger was justified – which it was, I agree with that – but those commentators have forgotten that we are talking about a teenager who had lost her parents when she was /8/ and had no idea what had happened in that situation. Imagine yourself in her place? Could you be like “yeah ok cool he killed my parents now he is about to kill my best friends, I’m just gonna be like nothing happened”? I don’t think so. Sorry about this rant btw.) to coworking with him, and like you said, it’s because of her that Ed could stand and walk and do all the things he did. She managed to build an automail when she was 11. She refused to just sit around when she could be helping, and automails became her way to do at least something to help people around her. I could list many other things as well, but maybe I won’t do that because I hope my followers already know about those traits.

Anyway, thanks, this was such a nice message, and I’m glad to spread the Winry love around!

Wh-what??!? Who’d be hating on a sweet angel like Winry?

I know right?? It’s still an opinion that I’ve been seeing surprisingly often ever since joining this fandom. When I first watched FMAB and read the manga, I was like “wow what a cool and sweet and badass girl she is” and then I started searching for fma things from tumblr… and saw that… people… don’t like her :O Well, my blog will always be a Winry positive place, you can rest assured. 🙂

For the short sentence prompt – 2. Edwin

At this point you have probably forgotten about ever even giving me this prompt, but here we finally go. BTW, I might have an angstier fic using this same prompt coming up, but we’ll see how I’ll feel about it. Meanwhile, take this a lot happier version that became longer than I expected 😀

rating: T for Ed’s dirty thoughts

“Eyes on me.”

“Winry, do we
really need to do this?” asked Ed, whose embarrassment must have been evident to
people within a 5-mile radius. It was Winry and his wedding day, and time for
the part of the reception that everyone had been looking forward to. Except Ed.

The first dance.

“Yes, Edward. We
have been practicing for this moment for at least two months. You don’t want to
disappoint all these people, do you?”

Ed looked around
to see all the excited faces around them, and mumbled something that sounded
like he couldn’t care less about what those people thought. Winry, however, had
learned what strings she should pull to get her now husband to do something for
her. She had a sly smile on her face when she said:

“Oh, by the way, General
Mustang is watching. Imagine his remarks if you fail to do this one thing.”

“That damn bastard…
Why was he invited anyway?”

“Because believe
it or not, he does care about your wellbeing. And I think, somewhere very, very
deep down in you, you appreciate the things he has done for you. I think you might
even see him as your father figure…” Winry teased.

“Why would you
even…” Ed protested, offended by his wife’s “accusations”.

“Shh, Ed. Eyes on
me. You can do it.” She squeezed his hand reassuringly.

The groom took a
deep breath, and like told, set his eyes on Winry. She had been beautiful in Ed’s
eyes for a long while (even though he didn’t say it aloud often enough), but
today he thought she was /radiant/. Her hair was tied on a simple but beautiful
bun, Riza had helped her with her make-up that seemed natural, but made her
eyes look even bluer (or was it just the lighting? Ed wondered), and she wore a
long, white silk gown with a short train and a lace layer and pearls on it. The
sleeves were short, the ‘v’ shaped neckline allowed her collarbones to show,
and the silky ribbon highlighted her thin waist. It was all so different from
her usual overalls and ponytail, and so nice to look at, yet Ed had to admit
his thoughts escaped into the moment when he’d get to rip her out of that dress
when he saw how it clung to her form. He gulped and shook his head to get rid
of that thought because he needed to focus now.

The music started
playing, apparently some traditional Amestrian wedding music that Ed was not
very familiar with because he had never attended a wedding before this one, his
own. He had let Winry make most of the decisions when it came to the wedding arrangements,
mostly because he knew that if he for example suggested the wedding cake have a
black topping, she’d probably make him sleep on the couch for weeks. He had
tried to talk her out of the dance though, but had clearly failed, seeing how he
was now being judged by their (rather big amount of) wedding guests.

About 30 seconds
into the song, Ed noticed that the dance wasn’t going too badly. He had yet to
step on Winry’s toes, and a few of the guests had started to dance too, meaning
that the newly wed couple didn’t have that much attention anymore. His eyes
found Colonel B… General Mustang showing his smooth moves with none other than
Captain Hawkeye, and Ed could see him glance at him every once in a while,
trying to find something to comment on about Ed’s dancing. It was probably thanks
to Riza that he managed to keep quiet, though, and so the dance went on without
any bigger incidents (once Ed stepped slightly on Winry’s toe, but she didn’t
even flinch, and simply kept going and tried to calm him down by repeating: “Eyes
on me, Ed, forget the rest”). At the end of the song he had gained enough confidence
to even give Winry a tiny twirl, and after that they bowed to the audience with
huge smiles on their faces.

“It wasn’t that
bad, was it?”

“It definitely
wasn’t as bad as fighting Homunculi,” Ed joked, and earned a scowl from his
wife.

“Relax, it was
fine. You made it fine,” he reassured her, and this time she gave him a shy
smile. “By the way, did I tell you that you look very beautifu…”

“Hey, Fullmetal!”
Roy yelled from somewhere, “how many hours did you have to practice that?”

“Not much, you
know, because my wife happens to be an excellent teacher,” he answered, and
pulled Winry closer to him. “But I was wondering, how many years will Captain Hawkeye have to wait
until you finally propose to her?”

Roy wasn’t usually
easily provoked, but this time Ed swore he saw a faint blush on Mustang’s face.
The younger man decided that he had won this battle, and besides, he had more
important things to think about. Like his beautiful wife. And what would happen
when the two of them were finally alone.

Winry seemed to
read his thoughts because she gave him a light kiss on his jaw and whispered: “Ready
to leave soon?”

“You bet.”
