I get really upset at these panels what gave you the right arakawa

Al ha been sitting naked under the blankets and Ed has been running around shirtless except for copious bandages (the Edward Elric lifestyle) and instead of checking into the hospital now like normal people would Ed wants to go eat because he is fucking hungry from saving the world earned himself a goddamn sandwich also I bet he’s also going to use this as an excuse to buy Al a ton of food because he’ll be damned if Al’s first meal in four years is hospital food and Al will just cram it into his face like FUCK YEAH TASTING THINGS and Ed will watch him all sparkly eyed and then Al will puke

but the very next thing he says after saying they should eat is “HEY WHERE IS OUR DUMBASS DAD” implying he WANTS HOHENHEIM TO EAT WITH THEM SO WHERE IS HE??? THEY WERE ALL GOING TO EAT TOGETHER.

and this is THE SECOND TIME he called him “dumbass dad” meaning he was probably planning to refer to him for the rest of his life, no more “Hohenheim”, “Dad” is in the house permanently, he was just ALWAYS GOING to preface it with “useless/rotten/dumbass” however you translate it. It would just be who he is. “AL WINRY AND DUMBASS USELESS DAD IT’S TIME FOR DINNER”. Actual term of endearment.

but nope, Hohenheim’s not here to eat with them, he already borrowed money and left. And I don’t know if he told Al he was off to do that or Al saw him. “AL I’M OFF TO D- BORROW MONEY.”

(also he actually borrowed money to take a train home and die because he is so broke GOD HOHENHEIM. WHO IS GOING TO FUCKING PAY THAT BACK. NOBODY NOW. YOU SCAMP.)

u are such a mess hohenheim.  Seriously. Just leave your kids being like “where’d he go” JUST DYING LULZ!

Ed probably spent a while looking for him before he took Al to eat and felt this vague uncomfortable feeling and then

jesus

10 Most Powerful Lines from the Fullmetal Alchemist Manga

↳ (6/10) Trisha Elric: "Don't call yourself a monster."

I love this line so much mostly for the fact that it had such an impact on Hohenheim. For all those years he had been alive, suffering, he had always thought that he was a monster for what happened with Father. But then Trisha comes along and tells him, no, you are not a monster. And he’s so surprised, because she was a human, just like all the souls in his body were, and she doesn’t degrade him or hate him, she accepts him. It’s almost like she forgives him, and that he was forgiven for all his indirect sins that he’s so guilty of.
